Taylor Lett, in her 8th year of teaching, is deeply committed to guiding students in recognizing and harnessing their strengths to positively influence the world. Having transitioned from six enriching years in Norfolk teaching first grade to her current role with second graders at Fairfield Elementary in Virginia Beach, Taylor places a strong emphasis on nurturing a classroom community anchored in empathy and patience. With a passionate drive to celebrate individuality and foster meaningful connections, she embarks on each academic year not just as a duty, but as a joy. This year, Taylor is eager to further spotlight the beauty in our differences and the lessons we can glean from one another.

Sonya Gordon

Sonya Gordon, an experienced and devoted educator, has spent 28 meaningful years guiding young learners across elementary, middle, and high school settings. Currently, she applies her skills as a 7th Grade English teacher at the supportive Lindsay Middle School, part of the Hampton City Schools system. Sonya's genuine passion for teaching stems from her ability to forge authentic relationships with her students, helping them succeed both academically and personally. Living by her impactful motto, "Don't tell them you care about their success, but show that you care about their success," Sonya Gordon balances empathy and determination, leaving a lasting and positive influence on those fortunate enough to be taught by her.
